ABOUT US

Our Mission

Our mission at Sadie's Sweets is to help minority groups, especially those affected by Covid-19, by donating 100% of proceeds to a variety of credible non-profit organizations.

Why Our Cause

When I was a kid, I devoted a lot of my time to volunteering at different organizations. I’ve always wanted to help others, and have wanted to create my own nonprofit for quite some time, but could never commit to a cause. A lot of the volunteering I did when I was younger took place in urban areas of New Jersey, teaching nutrition and healthy eating classes in after school programs at schools there. Partnering with Team Walker this spring, I was able to donate the funds of Sadie's Sweets to families in Jersey City who couldn't afford groceries due to the pandemic. This year we are expanding our reach, and currently, our focus is on donating to Indigenous North American communities.

How It Works

Deliveries are distributed to customers each week, and once we have received the money from the orders, along with donations, the funds are sent directly to the organization we are donating to.

Where are we donating?

This past year we have seen the toll Covid has taken on Native reservations. Recently, we have also received the news of mass graves and unmarked graves in Canada and the US, the remains of residential schools which were active not too long ago. We are currently donating to three organizations:
1. Indian Residential School Survivors Society (provides counselling and other services to survivors of residential schools in the British Columbia area)
2. First Nations Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund (supports Native communities against Covid)
3. Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women (raising awareness and advocating for policy change for Indigenous women)
We also encourage you to do your own research before deciding where to donate or donate to these organizations independently, as well as support Native-owned businesses.

What does 100% of the proceeds mean to Sadie's Sweets?

Part of our mission at Sadie's Sweets is donating every dollar we make to the places that need it most. This means that labor costs, gas money, money for packaging, and the money used to buy our ingredients are all funded by us. We do not use any donated funds to fiscally support the company. This means that all of your money is going directly to the organizations that you select!

FAQ

HOW ARE YOU MAKING A DIFFERENCE?

HOW DO WE DECIDE WHERE TO DONATE?

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT OPTIONS?

We offer delivery for cities in New Jersey. Contactless and safe delivery is guaranteed. Orders go out every Saturday, so long as the order form is filled out the previous Saturday by 11:59 P.M.

We accept Venmo and Apple Pay for payment. We also accept credit and debit cards. More details can be found in the checkout area.

ARE THERE OPTIONS FOR THOSE WITH ALLERGIES AND DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?

HOW ELSE CAN I HELP?

The majority of our products can be altered to accommodate customers' needs. However, we cannot guarantee the environment the baked goods are produced in is 100% nut-free.

You can help by giving a donation through our donations page, or purchasing goods from us more than once so that we have a continuous supply of funds to donate. Other ways you can help are donating or signing petitions through our Black Lives Matter page, or by donating to a food bank to help families during the pandemic.

When you purchase baked goods from Sadie's Sweets, you are not only ordering delicious food but you are using your money to help to those in need, as 100% of proceeds are for charity.

WHERE DO WE DELIVER AND HOW DOES OUR DELIVERY SYSTEM WORK?

All of the organizations we donate to we either have close experience working with, or we have done a great amount of research about who they are and the change that they make. We would never use your donations and our time and resources on an organization that we did not deem worthy.
